There is nothing I enjoy more than moments that light up our lives – moments that truly capture the essence of your child’s talents and passions. From concerts and wax museums to basketball games and soccer matches, we revel in the joy of witnessing “their moment” to shine.
Hope and gratitude are not just emotions; they are essential to our kids, schools, and communities. Recent research from the University of Kansas has emphasized the incredible impact of hope on student success. A study involving 3,920 college students discovered that the level of hope among freshmen at the beginning of the first semester was a more accurate predictor of their college grades than SAT scores or high school GPAs.

At Wylie ISD, cultivating hopeful kids is integral to the Wylie Way. We actively discuss, foster, and measure hope starting as early as the third grade. And we are proud to say that we don’t only have hope but also the numbers to prove it.
Is Your Child Hopeful?
During our recent Wylie Way Day, students in grades 5-12 participated in our annual hope survey, contributing to their individual Wylie Way Achievement Profiles. When you combine our kid’s scores together, our score indicates that our kids are thriving! These results are a testament to the power of hope and its positive impact on our students’ lives. For those wondering if their child is hopeful, these scores provide valuable insight into the resilience and optimism our students carry with them every day.
Did you know that you can check your kiddo’s Achievement Profile (grades 3-12) by logging in with their district username & password? Parents can view hope scores and more – take a look!
Grateful for Your Caring and Giving
Hope grows when we feel loved and cared for. As part of the Wylie Way, our students and staff actively participate in the annual Wylie Christian Care Center Food Drive, consistently making us the largest single source of donations to the Christian Care Center’s food pantry. This year, we set an impressive record of 147,994 donated items and more than $9,400 in contributions – WOW!
During the Wylie Way Christmas and Holidays program, the response from our community was amazing. Over 1,300 students requested assistance, and within a mere five days, YOU stepped up, meeting their needs and surpassing $200,000 in gifts. Every year this program highlights the incredible generosity and caring spirit of our Wylie ISD community.
Thank You!
A special note of heartfelt gratitude also goes to you for your support this past November. Because of you, our $298 million bond passed, allowing us to build new schools, enhance safety and security, and complete significant maintenance projects. None of this would be possible without your support and trust. We plan to honor your trust by keeping you updated and delivering classrooms, schools and other projects on time and within budget.
Grateful for Our Wylie ISD Family
Our district family is like no other, and your hearts are undoubtedly bigger than Texas. Thank you for being part of the Wylie ISD family and for allowing us the opportunity to teach your kids. Wylie ISD is truly a special place where hope happens, the Wylie Way!
We hope your family enjoys the Christmas and holiday break. We miss you already!
