My wife Cristy and I celebrated 30 years of marriage this year. I love her and appreciate the patience, caring, giving, and kindness she has shown me and modeled for our kids as they have grown into adulthood. I hope my kids see how I treat Cristy as an example to follow when they start a family. What are the values you would like for your kids to remember about you?

When my time is done in Wylie ISD, I will always remember how our Wylie family responds with caring and giving to our kiddos in need, the Wylie Way. As we begin the second nine weeks, we will focus our attention on the core ethical values of caring and giving. Our hope is to instill these values in our students so they can carry on the legacy of these values for their generation.
Character education research tells us that the best way to teach a value is to understand it, value it, and practice it. We have an annual tradition in Wylie ISD to collect food and cash donations for our local food bank, the Wylie Community Christian Care Center. Please enjoy this short video to learn more.
We encourage you to not only donate but to discuss the “why” behind the donation. The food or cash donation provided by this project may very well feed a classmate or neighbor. It has been said that “I can’t hear what you are saying because your actions speak so loudly.” During this season of caring and giving, my hope is that we are remembered as a school district that cares and gives back to the community, the Wylie Way!
