If you’re well-versed in the world of professional football, you might recognize this remarkable mom. Her two sons faced off in last year’s Super Bowl, and the journey of Donna Kelce became almost as captivating as the game itself. I am so blessed to celebrate my 13th year of serving you in Wylie ISD. It’s hard to believe that the Class of 2024 was just kindergartners when I started. The relationships we’ve built over these years have been a true blessing, and there’s nothing quite like the joy of celebrating your children’s accomplishments.
Much like a parent, I share in your children’s struggles and triumphs. The opportunity for our kids to be part of a team and compete for championships isn’t just about the game; it’s about their physical, social, and emotional growth, preparing them for the challenges of adulthood. The friendly rivalry between Wylie High School and Wylie East High School adds an extra layer of fun and excitement to the mix.
My logical side reminds me that these are nearly grown individuals who can drive cars, solve complex math problems, and lead their teams to victory or offer comfort to friends in moments of defeat. Yet, I can’t help but think of them as kindergartners in their uniforms, the effort it took to earn a spot on the team, and the families watching anxiously from the stands. Just like that NFL mom, I simply adore the kids in both uniforms and wish nothing but success for all. So, to everyone involved, best of luck tonight. Thank you for your unwavering support and love, both for me and for our kids, the Wylie Way!
