Each year, Wylie ISD adopts a theme to guide and support our efforts to make the school experience both fun and meaningful. This year, our theme is Legacy. Our hope is to instill in our students the understanding that building a positive legacy begins today. They are in charge of their actions that will be remembered, revered, and repeated by those who follow them.
A Legacy of Partnership
When future generations look back on Wylie ISD, we believe these times will be remembered as some of the most successful in our district’s history. A key part of this success is the involvement of our parents. Did you know that Wylie ISD has one of the most successful PTAs in Texas and the nation? It’s true! Our PTA membership proudly represents over 70% of our 19,000+ students.
Research consistently shows that family involvement has a positive impact on student achievement. We encourage every parent to get involved, whether it’s through joining the PTA, participating in booster clubs, or volunteering at school events. Your engagement makes a difference, and we deeply appreciate your support.

A Legacy of Listening
We believe that schools belong to the community, and that meeting your needs while communicating clearly builds a legacy of trust. Last year, families expressed a desire for more streamlined communication. We listened. After evaluating over 20 communication systems, we selected ParentSquare as our new single source of communication. ParentSquare allows direct communication from your child’s teachers, principals, and PTA. You can even customize how and when you receive messages.
Our website has also undergone a complete makeover based on your feedback. We’ve worked hard this summer to ensure it’s user-friendly and packed with the information you need.

A Legacy of Memories
Senior year is a milestone, not just for students, but for parents as well. The memories made during school years, especially on the first day, are cherished for a lifetime. We know many parents like to drive their children to school on the first day, and unlike some districts, we encourage it. This shared experience is part of the legacy we’re building together. Just remember to leave early to avoid the rush!
For those with children riding the bus, we’ve put in place several tools to keep you informed and at ease. Visit the Wylie ISD transportation department website to stay updated and prepared.

A Legacy of a Positive First Day
A smooth and well-prepared start to the school year sets a positive tone for the months ahead. Wylie ISD begins on a Thursday, which means Think College Thursday kicks off on the very first day!

Encourage your child to wear their Texas Tech shirt (or any other college, military, or technical school apparel) and join in the fun. Don’t forget to add money to your child’s Skyward account and remember, no food deliveries are allowed on campus.

Our Legacy Begins Today
As we kick off this new school year, let’s do so with excitement, optimism and hope. Each of us—students, parents, teachers, and staff—plays a vital role in shaping the legacy of Wylie ISD. Together, we are building memories, setting examples, and laying the foundation for the future.
I am pumped that this will be the best year ever and confident it will be filled with growth, learning, and joyful experiences. Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to making Wylie ISD a place where legacies are made every day, the Wylie Way!
