While these four kids have different backgrounds and different cultures, they still have a few things in common. They are all graduates of Wylie ISD, and they have all successfully completed their first semester of college. Recently, we had the chance to visit with them and were able to learn about their first impressions of college and how they feel Wylie ISD helped them to prepare. Their feedback was inspiring.
We invite you to take a few minutes to watch our interview with these outstanding young men and women and feel encouraged that we are on the right track to reach the Wylie ISD Board Goal of Preparing our students (academically, socially, and emotionally) for a prosperous life beyond high school.
Are these young men and women awesome or WHAT!?!? There is no better gift to educators than knowing they have prepared students academically, socially, and emotionally for a prosperous life beyond high school. I hope you feel the same pride that I feel in knowing that we have prepared them for a bright future.
This is a special nine-week period in Wylie ISD because our Wylie Way focus turns to the values of grit and preparation. Our kids will be talking a lot about goals, means for establishing pathways to achieve them, and the moral and performance character necessary to keep going when they are challenged. Parents, thanks for sharing your amazing kids with us. Educators, thanks for providing such a valuable experience that is literally changing the lives of those you teach. Our students are reaching goals that few others in our state and nation are attaining; and, they are doing it the Wylie Way! Stay tuned for weekly stories about how our kids are leveling up with grit and preparation.
