Wylie ISD is proud to boast that Wylie High School and Wylie East High School marching bands competed in the UIL State Marching Contest. This competition ranks That Wylie Band and The Pride of the East among the best marching bands in Texas and the United States. We are so proud of how they represent Wylie ISD in such a positive way. My heart swelled with pride after a phone call from the coordinator of the travel company that works to schedule travel for Wylie ISD Fine Arts. High praise was given to students and parents alike for how polite and respectful the Wylie ISD students acted and how kind and easy to work with were the parents, with stories he received from hotel management two weeks in a row after students had cleaned up after themselves in the rooms. These amazing students and their directors are incredible ambassadors for the Wylie Independent School District.
I believe our kids and our community are exceptional, and reports like these give me hope. Our kids lead with the character they learn from their parents, the experience in their classrooms. From October to the end of this semester, our Wylie Way efforts focus on promoting caring and Giving. Wylie ISD just wrapped up our Wylie ISD food drive. Our kids set a new record by almost 30,000 with a donation of 128,658 food items.
Hope is “the belief that the future will be better than the present, along with the belief that you have the power to make it so.” Our Wylie kids practice caring and giving with these donations and learn the power of hope by giving to others, the Wylie Way!
There are more ways to practice caring and giving with our kids and help local families, and they need your help! The Wylie Way Christmas & Holidays allows us the opportunity to impact our kids and their families and hopefully make their holiday season a little brighter, a little merrier, and a little easier.
I am AMAZED by the generosity of our community; with 1,104 that need our help, 919 have already adopted! So let’s help get the remaining 185 kids!!!!!!
We are growing our kids to lead with character and serve as ambassadors of HOPE by caring and giving that fosters hope in their hearts and hope in each other. Thank you for sharing your amazing kids with us; they make me more hopeful, the Wylie Way!
