This sweet family is new to Wylie ISD. Annie (the mom) was our babysitter in Lubbock when she was attending college at Texas Tech. The Vinson’s now have a a junior and senior at WHS and Annie has started her own family. Boy how time flies! We want her 1st grader and every student to say YAY THE FIRST DAY!
YIKES or YAY
YIKES or YAY are the two most common reactions from parents thinking about the first day of a new school for their kid. Both are positive, it means they care. Whitt Principal, Amber Teamann (pictured above) gets it.
Welcoming in new students is more than just meeting the Wolves, it’s about including them in as a part of our Whitt family, into the pack. We want them to feel connected and plugged in from the start and that includes the moms and dads and extended families too!
YAY begins with great communication and we do our best to make that happen. Knowing the ropes is a great first step that begins with effective communication.
