Wylie ISD’s commitment to excellence does not just begin and end in academic success for all students! As a district we will foster social and emotional health by teaching Relational Skills. Through The Wylie Way our students will learn to live out the core values set forth by our community and develop a range of skills they need to be successful in school and life.
Knowing your strengths and limitations
Being able to stay in control and persevere through challenges
Understanding, empathizing and communicating with others
Being able to work in teams and resolve conflict
Being able to make ethical and safe decisions
Relational skills are what we use to maintain relationships during strain, conflicts and difficulties so we can endure hardships and stay connected to others.
We are so proud to place relationships first and continue to build positive character traits in our students.
Our relational skills and restorative practices strategies are simple but effective classroom practices that support the Wylie Way movement district wide.
Building and maintaining meaningful connections across race, culture, age, and distance are critical skills students need to learn to be successful.
