Setting students on the path to achievement

What can we do to improve our kid’s chances to find a career they love?

In Wylie ISD, we want our students to discover their strengths and passions and match them with a plan, purpose, and engaging career to pursue following graduation. Our goal is to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in their chosen paths, whether it’s higher education or alternative career routes.

If we can provide them a map for their future, they are much more likely to be happy and hopeful adults who will give back to the school and the community.

Our Students on the Path to Graduation

We have a PLAN to EMBOLDEN our graduates with job skills and college preparation, and that plan begins the moment they start school in our district. We strive to help students follow their passions, utilize their strengths, and chart their future with a world-class education.

putting the wylie way in action

The Wylie Way Map Your Future curriculum guides students from kindergarten to graduation.  We begin to work with our students to start mapping a meaningful future by giving them the opportunity to explore and identify what they are good at and how that might apply to their future and career.

The best way to plan your future is to Map your future

Grit and preparation Map your future day

What better way to help students improve their chances on finding a career they love than by celebrating on a Wylie Way day!  Map your Future Days help bring relevance and purpose to our schools by connecting both a personal plan and a goal through a variety of activities and lessons.

The Wylie ISD Treasure Map is an example of an activity that our students use as part of the Wylie Way curriculum.  The map is used as a reference point to achieving career goals now and in the future.
